Ruven Kuperman At Kit Schulte Gallery

In New Mythologies, Ruven Kuperman attempts to connect japanese elements of tradition and culture with a heroic contemporary imagery, based on the old and new testament.

Kuperman was born in 1964 in Kishenev, Russia and lives and works in Tel Aviv, Israel. He received his BA in fine arts and philosophy from Haifa State University in 1989 and continued his studies in the US with an MFA Program at the School of Visual Arts, New York. Since 1997 he works as an assistant professor at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jeruaslon and the Wizo College of Design in Haifa. Kuperman’s paintings and drawings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in various museums in Israel (the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, The Israel Museum , Jerusalem and the Janco Dada Museum, Ein Hod), as well as in numerous gallery exhibitions throughout Israel and the US.

In der Ausstellung New Mythologies strebt Ruven Kuperman eine Verknüpfung von traditionell japanischen Kulturelementen mit einer Bilddarstellung von modernen Mangahelden, basierend auf dem Alten- und Neuen Testament, an.

Ruven Kuperman wurde 1964 in Kishenev, Russia geboren. Heute lebt und arbeitet er in Tel Aviv, Israel. Er studierte mit Abschluss (1989) bildende Künste und Philosophie an der Staatlichen Universität in Haifa, Israel. Sein MFA erhielt er an der School of Visual Arts in New York. Seit 1997 arbeitet er als Professor an der Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem und dem Wizo Collage of Design in Haifa. Seine Ölbilder und Zeichnungen wurden in Ausstellungen in Museen in Israel (Tel Aviv Museum of Art, The Israel Museum, Jerusalem, Janco Dada Museum, Ein Hod) und in Galerien in Israel und den USA gezeigt.
